The Health & Safety Manager will lead and support hotel teams in ensuring a culture of safety and security for all stakeholders. This role involves managing all aspects of the hotel’s Health, Safety & Security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues, contractors, and visitors. The position champions safe work practices, develops and implements employee safe-working procedures, and oversees accident prevention programs. Responsibilities include managing emergency systems, leading the Fire & Life Safety Program, and conducting investigations and audits. The role also involves liaising with external agencies, coordinating emergency drills, and managing business continuity and crisis management programs. Ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and chairing the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee are key functions. The manager will also ensure compliance with Go2HR COR Audit requirements and WorkSafeBC regulations, and collaborate with Engineering & IT departments on related projects. Additional duties include managing the Lost & Found, conducting security patrols, responding to emergencies, providing First Aid and CPR, managing Occupational First Aid training, maintaining First Aid kits, managing security video systems, and staying aware of city security trends to proactively prevent loss.
