About The Position

Nebius is looking for a Health & Safety Manager to lead site-level safety for our Vineland data center. This role will build, implement, and continuously improve the health and safety program for a high-density AI infrastructure environment, covering employees, contractors, vendors, and critical facility operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of health and safety/EHS experience in data centers, critical facilities, construction, manufacturing, energy, utilities, or another high-risk environment.
  • Strong knowledge of General Industry standards; exposure to OSHA Construction standards preferred.
  • Experience with contractor safety, LOTO, electrical safety, PPE, HazCom, emergency response, incident investigation, and safety audits.
  • Experience supporting critical infrastructure such as switchgear, UPS systems, batteries, generators, cooling systems, fire/life-safety systems, mechanical rooms, or loading docks.
  • Ability to influence employees, contractors, vendors, and site leadership in a fast-moving operational environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Vineland, NJ, with flexibility to support critical incidents, maintenance windows, or emergency response.

Nice To Haves

  • Data center, hyperscale, AI infrastructure, power generation, or mission-critical facility experience.
  • OSHA 30 General Industry or Construction.
  • ASP, CSP, CHST, NFPA 70E, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting construction-to-operations handover or rapid site ramp-up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the health and safety program for the Vineland data center, covering construction-to-operations ramp-up and ongoing site operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements, Nebius standards, and site safety procedures.
  • Manage safety risks related to electrical systems, lockout/tagout, arc-flash exposure, UPS and battery systems, generators, cooling systems, hot work, working at height, material handling, loading docks, and contractor activity.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor safety, including onboarding, permits to work, job hazard analyses, audits, toolbox talks, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations and facilities teams to embed safety into SOPs, MOPs, maintenance windows, incident response, and change-management processes.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and safety trend reporting.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, training records, OSHA logs, inspection records, and audit readiness.
  • Lead emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation planning, drills, spill response, severe-weather response, and coordination with local emergency services.
  • Build a strong safety culture through field presence, coaching, training, inspections, and practical risk reduction.
  • Track and report safety KPIs, including training completion, audit findings, near misses, incidents, corrective-action closure, and contractor safety performance.
