About The Position

The Health and Safety Student will actively assist in implementing and monitoring the site-specific safety plan to ensure a secure work environment across the complex, live-airport PACT project. You will work closely with site supervisors and the safety team to promote a "Safety First" culture. This is a 12-16 month co-op student opportunity starting in September 2026.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related post-secondary program.
• Basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and standard construction safety practices.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to confidently communicate safety protocols to diverse teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
• Strong organizational skills and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced project team.

Responsibilities

• Accompany Health and Safety Managers on daily site walks and safety inspections to identify potential hazards.
• Assist in coordinating and tracking safety training, including Airport Security Awareness and Health and Safety Awareness modules.
• Support the documentation of incident reports, near-misses, and safety observations.
• Help prepare materials for safety orientations, toolbox talks, and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings.
• Assist with maintaining safety equipment inventories and compliance records.
