About The Position

This internship focuses on supporting the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs within a manufacturing environment. The intern will work under the HSE Coordinator, assisting with program administration, compliance, training, data collection, and reporting. The role also involves collaboration with the site management team on continuous improvement initiatives and risk assessment.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule-driven environment.
  • Ability to work well with others and complete assignments on time.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety Management, Occupational safety or related degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or HSE role.
  • Experience with MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administering local HSE programs and ensuring HSE compliance.
  • Participating in HSE meetings and inspections.
  • Conducting training sessions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of applications for environmental permits.
  • Collecting data and preparing HSE reports on air emissions, hazard waste, storm water, and accident/incident reports.
  • Collaborating with engineering to assess risk, evaluate new processes, and review facility layouts for potential HSE faults.
  • Collecting data to analyze key performance measures and identify operational deficiencies.
  • Assisting the site management team with growth and continuous improvement/Lean activities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
