About The Position

This role will function in a structured care setting and adheres to the policies and procedures established by Sanford. Will demonstrate knowledge of clerical administrative functions of the clinic and clinical procedures for the patient. Responsible to greet, instruct, and schedule patients. Provides care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Must possess the ability to perform testing to assess data reflective of the patient's status and to interpret appropriately the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Knowledge of computerized billing and scheduling systems as well as maintaining records and writing reports. Knowledge of business office procedures including operating a computer and copy machine. Will answer the telephone in a highly professional, pleasant, and helpful manner. Skill in providing customer service to clients at a very high level. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to sell oneself and the program by presenting to potential outside businesses clients. Responsible for successful collaboration with other departments and promote a culture of information sharing and working together. Will be responsible to schedule multiple appointments for clients with a conscious effort of time management for the client and impacting department needs. Ability to deal with customer complaints. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Three years of clinic/hospital setting preferred.
  • Currently holds an unenciphumbranced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or obtained within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
