About The Position

This position draws upon subject matter expertise to support healthcare workforce planning efforts spanning multiple domains, including healthcare personnel, facilities, organizations, and resource allocation. The position is responsible for leading the planning and execution efforts of the Office of Population Health Improvement's health care workforce data clearinghouse. The position's duties will include data benchmarking and tracking of trends, national research efforts, support of state workforce recruitment and retention efforts, and contribution of critical data for validation of state shortages to ensure appropriate federal funding and resource allocation. This position will assist in planning and coordinating various data projects within the Office including the health workforce data clearinghouse, health professional shortage area designation data collection and analysis processes. This position will require strong stakeholder engagement and communication including internal Maryland Department of Health collaborations; health professional boards and commissions; other state agencies; external organizations and interested parties. This position will also be the lead for establishing short and long term planning and execution activities for assigned projects, and communicate and engage internal leadership, stakeholders, and others. This position is eligible for Hybrid Telework.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Planning, Public Health, Health Science, Hospital Administration or Health Care Administration.
  • Four years of professional experience in health planning.

Responsibilities
