About The Position

The Health Plan Advocate position is pivotal role within the Human Resources Department in educating and supporting our team members about their health plan options and assisting them in making informed healthcare decisions based on their unique needs.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in HR or Business or equivalent education and/or experience required
  • Working knowledge of Affordable Care Act strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or Business preferred.
  • Experience working in a health care or mental health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for employees on health plan benefits, updates, and wellness programs.
  • Work closely with our health plan vendors to meet the needs of our employees and to troubleshoot individual challenges as they arise.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the provider market in our territory to inform training programs and advice given in individual employee discussions.
  • Provide personalized assistance to employees in understanding and navigating their health coverage options on both medical and Rx related needs.
  • Develop and update training materials and presentations based on the latest health plan information and trends.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to identify healthcare needs and gaps in coverage among employees.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees for all health plan related inquiries.
  • Organize and lead Q&A sessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee health information.
  • Assist in the communication of health plan benefits during new hire orientations and open enrollment periods.
