About The Position

The Health Physics Associate supports radiation safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance activities across Cleveland Clinic Florida hospitals. This role is responsible for helping ensure that imaging and radiation-producing equipment, including X-ray and CT systems, operate in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Acting as a liaison between Cleveland Clinic and the regulatory authorities, the caregiver coordinates and supports inspections and audits, addresses findings through corrective action plans, and works closely with clinical and operational teams to maintain compliance. Additional responsibilities include supporting radiation, radioactive materials, and laser safety programs, conducting investigations, identifying solutions to safety or compliance concerns, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to promote a safe environment for patients and caregivers. While the role includes travel to Florida facilities, the caregiver will maintain office space at Main Campus. A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a safety/science technology area or an applicable health care area required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety, healthcare, or science field
  • Must maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and have reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a science, engineering, or safety field
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification

Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of x-ray program records and safe operating procedures. This entails travel to remote sites.
  • Review and provide follow-up with site personnel and assist with problems detected.
  • Interface with Florida Department of Health inspectors and personnel routinely and during inspections.
  • Maintain or assist in maintaining x-ray registrations for CCHS facilities.
  • May occasionally be required to assist with radioactive materials safety.
