About The Position

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell (CCSL) is seeking a Health and Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This is a .6 FTE position, requiring the teacher to instruct three classes per day. These classes will include a combination of 9th and 10th-grade Health, along with one Physical Education class (grade level to be determined). CCSL is a tuition-free public charter academy dedicated to providing a challenging academic program in a safe and structured setting. Established in 2013, the school now serves students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our mission is to deliver high-quality education to a diverse student body, preparing them for college success, fostering lifelong learning, and instilling strong civic, ethical, and moral values, all while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Fluency in the subject area to be taught.
  • All required state certifications for the position.
  • Completion of all required reference and criminal background checks.
  • A bright smile, warm heart, and a plethora of positive energy!

  • Ability to work as a tutor with students struggling with specific concepts or subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Health and PE classes, infusing creativity into engaging lessons and ensuring student academic growth.
  • Manage the classroom by consistently and effectively applying school and classroom rules, utilizing preventive discipline techniques, motivating and engaging students, clearly communicating expectations, and establishing a positive learning environment.
  • Observe, evaluate, report, and record students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address students’ behavioral or academic challenges and celebrate achievements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the school community by adhering to school policies and procedures and meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • May be assigned additional non-instructional duties such as proctoring exams, supervising recess or lunch, or leading a club/group/activity.
