About The Position

The Health Occupations Manager role at the NIC Workforce Training Center focuses on developing healthcare workforce programs that create meaningful career opportunities. The role directly supports students preparing for in-demand healthcare careers and assists employers in developing a skilled workforce.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years full-time equivalent related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, to include supervisory experience.
Experience in managing, evaluating, and driving program performance to include implementing changes to improve program performance.
Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

LERN Certified Program Planner certification preferred; must be obtained within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple healthcare training programs, including instructor and staff supervision, course planning, budgeting, scheduling, and program performance.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, community partners, and college departments to coordinate clinical placements, maintain affiliation agreements, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Identify workforce trends, cultivate industry partnerships, and develop new healthcare training opportunities.
Manage grant and program budgets.
Promote courses to prospective students.
Support pathways connecting non-credit students to credit-bearing healthcare programs.
Provide instruction in healthcare courses as needed.
Assist with state skills examinations as needed.
