About The Position

Bradley Free Clinic is seeking a Health Insurance Navigator to provide free, accurate, unbiased, confidential, and culturally responsive assistance to individuals and families seeking health coverage. The Navigator will help consumers understand eligibility and coverage options, apply for and enroll in Virginia Medicaid, FAMIS, and Health Insurance Marketplace plans, complete annual renewals and reenrollment, compare Marketplace plans, and resolve enrollment or coverage issues. The position will also support community outreach, education, enrollment events, and partnerships with organizations serving uninsured and underserved populations.

Requirements

• Experience with health insurance enrollment, Medicaid, FAMIS, the Health Insurance Marketplace, health care, social services, or other public benefit programs.
• Ability to successfully complete required Navigator training and certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one assistance with Medicaid, FAMIS, and Marketplace applications, enrollment, renewals, and coverage issues.
• Explain eligibility requirements, enrollment periods, Special Enrollment Periods, and health plan options in clear, understandable terms.
• Help consumers compare Marketplace plans, including premiums, deductibles, provider networks, and prescription coverage.
• Follow up with consumers and provide referrals to appropriate community, health care, legal, tax, immigration, or social service resources when needed.
• Conduct community outreach, education, presentations, health fairs, and enrollment events, including activities during Marketplace Open Enrollment.
• Build relationships with health care providers, community organizations, schools, libraries, faith communities, social service agencies, and other local partners.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of consumer assistance, enrollment outcomes, follow-up, and outreach activities; complete required reports and data tracking.
• Participate in Enroll Virginia meetings, training, webinars, statewide initiatives, and collaboration with other Navigators and partner organizations.
• Identify barriers to health coverage and share community needs, trends, and successful outreach strategies.

Benefits

• Medical Insurance: Participating employees contribute 25% of the employee medical insurance premium while Bradley Free contributes the remaining 75%. Employees are responsible for 100% of dependents’ medical insurance premiums. Employees who work 30 hours regularly will be eligible for medical the first of the month following 60 days.
• Dental Insurance: Participating employees contribute 25% of the dental insurance premium while Bradley Free contributes the remaining 75%. Employees are responsible for 100% of dependents’ dental insurance premium. Employees who work 30 hours on a regular basis will be eligible for dental the first of the month following 60 days.
• Vision Insurance: Participating employees are responsible for 100% of the insurance premium. Employees who work 30 hours on a regular basis will be eligible for vision the first of the month following 60 days

• 401K: Bradley Free Clinic will match employees’ contributions 100% up to 3% of the employee’s annual salary and 50% on the next 2% of the employee’s annual salary. Employees are eligible to participate once they attain age 21 and have 1 year service with the company. You will enter the plan on the first day of the month on or after you meet the eligibility requirements. Our 401(k) plan has a three-year cliff vesting schedule. This means you are always 100% vested in contributions you choose to defer; however, you must remain employed for three (3) years to be 100% vested in any employer matching contributions; there is no step vesting schedule.
