This position involves performing a comprehensive review and verification of medical records to ensure compliance with accreditation agencies and internal policies. The role requires qualitative analysis of medical records for completeness and accuracy, including correlation of laboratory results, procedures, and treatments with diagnoses. The technician will compile statistics, maintain patient registration and admission data, and manage outpatient surgery information in the RPMS/ADT system. Responsibilities also include monitoring and distributing transcribed reports, coordinating with IT staff for system updates, scanning patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and importing data through Health Information Exchange. The role involves creating Personal Health Record accounts, processing Release of Information requests, and handling telephone inquiries. Additionally, the technician will orient and train new staff on medical record functions, participate in quality improvement monitoring, and prepare patient records for archival. This includes converting paper records to electronic formats and registering patients. The position also requires completing birth and death certificate registrations within a specified timeframe and maintaining logs for medical record numbers and patient indexes. The technician will dispatch and collect medical records, ensuring proper logging and tracking.
