Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. (Must be from an Accredited Institute recognized by the State Dept. of Education.)
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stay organized while working quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail is also required.
  • Passing annual Introductory HIPAA examination. (Testing to be given annually in accordance with employee review.)
  • Required to take and pass a 90-day ROI Certification course with a score of 85% or higher.
  • Post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. may be required.

  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Previous production/metric-based work experience.
  • In-person customer service experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers.
  • Comfortable bringing new ideas, process improvement suggestions, and feedback to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the front desk point of contact for patient walk-ins requesting medical records or releases
  • Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors
  • Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and timely
  • Fax, scan, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests
  • Burn medical images to CDs and share images electronically as required
  • Support client relationship management through professional communication
  • Assist with reporting and administrative duties such as data entry and email
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and facility policies
