About The Position

This is an entry-level position responsible for the day-to-day activities of collecting discharged records, prepping, and scanning into the electronic medical record and/or other designated systems. A qualified candidate is expected to verify the correct patient’s medical record and account numbers are assigned to each document in the electronic medical record. Perform all assigned duties in a timely manner so the medical record is accessible for treatment, payment and healthcare operations. The Tech I applicant is also required to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to the policies that govern the Health Information Management department. A successful applicant actively seeks to promote and help maintain a professional, team-oriented, service-conscious environment, which contributes to the goals of the department and reflects on the values of the system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year healthcare work experience with an electronic health record OR 1 year completed in an accredited HIM program
• Basic computer skills, including Google office applications preferred

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree, Preferred
• Enrolled in a related healthcare degree program preferred
• Proficient in medical terminology, preferred
