About The Position

NHC HealthCare Columbia is seeking a Full-Time Health Information Management (HIM) Director to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and confidential health records in accordance with NHC policies, state and federal regulations, and health information management standards. The Director will collaborate with center leadership and regional HIM support to ensure medical records and health information processes are accurate, organized, and compliant.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive health information
Strong computer and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Previous medical records or Health Information Management experience preferred
ICD-10-CM coding experience preferred
Skilled Nursing Facility experience, including familiarity with PDPM, preferred
MDS experience preferred
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CCA, CCS, or other applicable Health Information Management certification preferred, but not required
AHIMA membership preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate, complete, and confidential health records in accordance with established NHC policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and applicable health information management standards.
Working closely with center leadership and regional Health Information Management support to ensure the center's medical records and health information processes remain accurate, organized, and compliant.
