This role involves performing specialized health information activities to organize, maintain, and use electronic and paper patient health records in Pasadena. Depending on the assigned area, responsibilities may include coding clerical support, transcription processing and interface, coordination of record requests, image scanning quality auditing, or serving as a satellite representative in off-campus locations. The role also involves analyzing/researching errors, participating in quality reviews, compiling and trending data, generating reports, querying multiple electronic records and tracking systems, and understanding chart organization and content, as well as CSMC and external requirements related to chart documentation and privacy. Additionally, the associate will serve as a backup for prepping and scanning records to meet department goals.

Requirements

  • Understanding of chart organization and content.
  • Knowledge of CSMC and external requirements related to chart documentation and privacy.
  • Ability to query multiple electronic records and tracking systems.
  • Skills in analyzing/researching errors.
  • Ability to compile and trend data and generate reports.
  • Experience in performing clerical functions such as coding clerical support, transcription processing and interface.
  • Experience in coordinating record requests.
  • Experience in image scanning quality auditing.
  • Experience serving as a satellite representative in off-campus locations.
  • Ability to perform as a backup for prepping and scanning records.

Responsibilities
