About The Position
Join AmeriCorps as an Elementary School Based Health Center Health Educator at Erie Family Health Centers. This year-long, full-time service position provides the opportunity to support students, families, and communities while building professional skills through mentorship, training, and hands-on service experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire and ability to present information to groups.
- Current CPR Certification.
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Ability to meet AmeriCorps background check requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in community health, education, or social services.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- EPIC experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver health education and wellness programming to elementary school students.
- Provide one-on-one nutrition and health coaching support.
- Coordinate student access to vision and dental services.
- Plan and facilitate health promotion events and outreach activities.
- Support youth engagement initiatives and advisory boards.
- Participate in community outreach and resource navigation activities.
