About The Position

This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensure proper coverage, and complete timesheets. Responsible for conducting evaluation projects activities related to the development, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of assessment and contract results for evaluation purposes including but not limited to the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) Community Health Improvement Plan annual report per state requirements. Responsible for the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade strategic planning and development and implementation of work plans, obtaining reports as well collecting data. Responsible for the overall functions and the day-to-day operations of the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade and its various committees, and program initiatives with the Florida Department of Health in Miami Dade County. The incumbent will serve as the Executive Board Liaison for the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade and support the functions of the various committees. Incumbent is responsible for overseeing the organization’s operations, planning and scheduling events, meetings and presentations. Incumbent will ensure that the Consortium Liaisons complete the meeting minutes, tracking attendance, and completing required reports for each meeting. Responsible for ensuring that committees have materials to operate to meet the strategic goals and objectives of the committee work plan. Conducts activities related to Florida Healthy Babies and Healthy Communities of Florida. Prepares reports, records the results of systems, environmental and policy changes implemented, including technical writings such as operations manuals, procedures guides, or operator instructions required for systems operations, as well as project reporting on monthly/quarterly basis to monitor strategic objectives and health outcomes. Complete work with the Office of Community Health and Planning. Roles will include the support of the office by developing policy, systems and environmental changes that can be implemented within the community and that address the environmental, social, and economic conditions that impact health. Complete reporting related to policies and the impact on the community to address population health outcomes. Provides management consultant services and assistance based upon well-established and accepted practices, theories, techniques, and methodology to improve management capabilities in contractual services and contract administration which includes reviewing contract deliverables for completeness and noted achievement. Responsible for overseeing the planning, organizing and coordination of work assignments, including establishing and maintaining community contacts, scheduling, and/or packing of presentation materials, promotional items, and educational materials. Represents the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County and the Consortium for Healthier Miami-Dade at community meetings and health fairs during work hours, nontraditional work hours and/or weekends. Performs other related duties as required.
