Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline) or relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Value Based Care analytics
  • 2+ years of experience building data visualizations in Tableau or Power BI
  • 2+ years of experience building cost benefit analyses
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Excel-based analytics and data manipulation
  • Proven exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a solid ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy

Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of healthcare as a business to uncover and translate total cost of care management opportunities into measurable metrics, hypotheses, and analytic plans (baseline, segmentation, drivers, intervention sizing)
  • Use Tableau / Power BI dashboards and Excel to visualize administrative and clinical data, metrics, and trends, to identify areas of opportunity and present findings to diverse groups of clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Develop financial models, including cost benefit analysis, to estimate potential opportunities and measure expected ROI
  • Gain a deep understanding of total cost-of-care management strategies by engaging with clinical and administrative stakeholders driving value-based care initiatives
  • Ensure methodologies used to model and measure affordability impact are consistent, statistically sound, and transparent, building trust and credibility with regional and enterprise partners
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing recurring reports and analyses to ensure they are clear, accurate, and aligned with organizational needs
  • Partner with internal teams to standardize processes, improve workflow efficiency, and support operational readiness for new analytic capabilities
