About The Position

This is a 12-month, full-time position with an expected commitment of 40 hours per week. Primary purpose: Leads the design and implementation of an ICU-focused research and quality data analytics platform, translating clinical and research needs into scalable cloud-based data solutions. Guides vendor teams throughout evaluation and delivery, ensuring secure, high-quality integration of electronic health record (EHR) and related research data to support reliable analytics and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, health informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in data engineering and/or data architecture, including substantial work with healthcare data
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing health analytics solutions using Microsoft cloud technologies (e.g., Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric)
  • Strong experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and SQL-based transformations
  • Experience integrating and transforming EHR and clinical data for analytics use cases
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting healthcare-related data analytics, particularly in clinical or quality improvement contexts
  • Familiarity with common healthcare data models (e.g., FHIR, OMOP)
  • Experience working with clinical registries, benchmarking programs, or quality improvement datasets
  • Knowledge of security, networking, and identity management in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA-covered or similar settings)
  • Experience designing research-grade or reproducible analytics pipelines
  • Demonstrated strength in stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering with clinicians, researchers, or operational leaders
