About The Position

The Health Coach’s purpose is to educate and communicate with Electronic Caregiver clients and properly communicate with patients regarding their needs, issues, and concerns. The main areas of responsibility for this position are assessing patients’ lifestyles, addressing health concerns, and working with patients to make behavioral, nutritional, and other changes to promote better health and wellness. The Health Coach should be able to create positive interactions and should be patient, compassionate, and professional. Work is performed under immediate supervision by a supervisor or other administrative superior; however, the employee is expected to exercise good judgment and discretion within the limits of established procedures, including HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

  • A strong medical background is required for this role.
  • Candidates with prior experience in healthcare, patient care, medical assisting, clinical support, chronic care management, remote patient monitoring, or related medical environments are strongly preferred.
  • CMA, CCMA, RMA, CNA, or other healthcare certifications are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Medical background required
  • Experience working in a healthcare, medical office, clinic, hospital, RPM, CCM, or patient care environment strongly preferred
  • CMA, CCMA, RMA, CNA, or related healthcare certification preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Able to meet daily RPM and/or CCM Health Coaching call goal expectations as outlined by the client and/or ECG
  • Effective communication in a professional healthcare setting, whether oral or written, is crucial for interacting with patients, team members, clients, interdepartmentally, and leadership
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to navigate patient concerns and de-escalate situations as needed
  • Identify social cues to effectively navigate patient interactions and conversations
  • Utilize trained skills to effectively rebuttal and retain patients when applicable
  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes
  • Positively engage with patients utilizing excellent customer service and empathy
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the quality of care delivered; work to ensure a safe environment for themselves, patients, and other staff members
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
  • Coordinate with clients and other healthcare providers to provide a well-rounded patient experience
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully to develop alternative solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology, patient communication, and healthcare processes preferred
