Health Coach - PST time zone
About The Position

The Clinical Advocate / Health Coach role is dedicated to improving member health by supporting them throughout their health journey, assessing needs, educating, and providing resources. This position also focuses on addressing members' medical questions and concerns, screening for health and social determinant issues. The role reports to the Clinical Operations Manager and is a remote position for individuals residing in the PST time zone.
Requirements
- Certified Health Coach
- 2+ years of clinical experience in acute care, corporate wellness, or digital/virtual coaching program
- Proven experience working in a fast paced multitask environment
- Experience with Motivational Interviewing
- Proficiency with MS Office- Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams
- Comfortable questioning status quo and proposing ideas for improvement
- Reside in the PST time zone to support 8:00 am - 5:00 pm member base

- Experience in health insurance industry
- Experience with artificial intelligence
- Experience working in a virtual clinical role
- Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
- Excel working in a constantly rapid changing environment
Responsibilities
- Engage with Surest members telephonically and by email to identify needs and assist with benefit navigation, decision support and overall health and wellness information
- Educate on the Surest plan benefit, provide resources and healthcare decision support with members
- Screen for high-risk situations, including health and SDOH, and refer to appropriate sources
- Establish trust with members
- Track, assess and document member’s health plan
- Identify high risk situations early and support members proactively to improve outcomes
- Cross trained to assist with other disease/condition focused needs for the member
- Provide expert consultation to other Clinical Advocates on the team or other business units about motivational interviewing techniques, overall health and wellness needs and resources
