About The Position

The Health Care Business Analyst will be responsible for preparing quantitative measurement and analysis of quality, cost, financial, and operations measures for assigned projects or teams. This role involves regularly monitoring performance, highlighting trends, and identifying opportunities for improvement for leaders and stakeholders. The analyst will also model and forecast data using advanced statistical software and methodologies, provide guidance on methodology, and review the work of junior analysts. A key responsibility includes quarterly updates to the Decision Support system (DSS), which involves compiling data reports, interfacing with the system office Decision Support Team, collecting overhead statistics, and maintaining RVUs. Additionally, the role involves developing, maintaining, and utilizing databases and reporting tools to extract data, generate reports and dashboards, perform routine audits, and troubleshoot issues. The analyst will participate in the development and maintenance of standard data definitions and reporting methodologies, and work with team management on data and business intelligence strategic plans. The position requires presenting data and findings clearly to various leadership levels and stakeholders, providing consultative interpretation of performance metrics, and collaborating with senior leaders on findings and recommendations. The analyst will also provide ad-hoc analytics and reports using various systems and tools. Furthermore, the role involves serving as the primary contact for analytics projects, coordinating with IT, BAU, vendors, and other stakeholders, and overseeing multiple projects while mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

  • Advance Excel experience.
  • Health Care Cost Accounting experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business Administration, Computer/Information Science or related disciplines is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Reporting & analytics experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma concepts.
  • Understanding of healthcare quality data.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor performance and highlight trends and opportunities for improvements to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Model and forecast data using advanced statistical software and methodologies.
  • Provide guidance on methodology and review work of junior analysts.
  • Responsible for quarterly updates to the Decision Support system (DSS), including compiling data rpts., interfacing with the system office Decision Support Team; collecting overhead statistics; and maintaining RVU's.
  • Develop, maintain and utilize databases and reporting tools to extract data, generate reports and dashboards in a meaningful way.
  • Perform routine audits of data, reports and analysis; trouble-shooting issues to resolution.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of standard data definitions and reporting methodologies.
  • Work with team management to develop data and business intelligence strategic plans and improvements.
  • Presentation of data and findings in a clear and concise manner to various levels of leadership and internal or external stakeholders.
  • Provide consultative interpretation of performance metrics and statistical analyses.
  • Independently collaborate with senior leaders on findings and recommendations.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytics and reports via a variety of systems (McKesson Performance Analytics, Epic, external data sets, Midas) and tools (Excel, R, SQL, HBI, Access, Business Objects, Spotfire).
  • Serve as the primary contact for analytics projects.
  • Coordinate IT, BAU, vendors and other stakeholders to meet project needs.
  • Independently oversee several projects, mentor and monitor project management of junior analysts.
