About The Position

The Health Care Assistant (HCA) plays a crucial role in delivering culturally responsive patient care. This position involves medical assisting, lab work, and administrative support—helping ensure every patient receives quality, respectful care in a welcoming environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required; Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply (Mandarin, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, or Portuguese).
Passionate about health equity, reproductive justice, and inclusive care.
Comfortable working with diverse patient populations in fast-paced environments.
Strong organizational skills and commitment to racial and gender equity.

Responsibilities

Patient Care & Support: Provide empathetic, culturally competent patient support while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals to optimize patient experience.
Record vital signs and document medical history
Laboratory & Specimen Management: Perform venipuncture and lab testing with a commitment to patient safety and dignity.
Ensure lab records and samples are handled with care and precision.
Administrative & Advocacy Duties: Schedule appointments and provide language-accessible triage services.
Support patient navigation, ensuring equitable access to care.
Engage in community-centered outreach and health education efforts.
