About The Position

The Compassion Network is seeking a dedicated, multilingual Health Care Aide to provide 1-on-1, awake overnight home care for a client in Southwest Edmonton. As an integral part of our clients’ daily lives, you will provide the essential physical and emotional support they rely on to live comfortably and safely. Beyond day-to-day care, you will act as a vital link to our broader team, sharing insights and ideas with supervising healthcare professionals to elevate the quality of life continuously and well-being of those we serve.

Requirements

• Health Care Aide (HCA) CLHA Registration
• Current CPR/BCLS certification is required.
• Must speak, read, and write English.
• Must also be able to converse in at least one of the following: Tagalog/Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese, Mandarin, or Cantonese.
• Basic computer literacy is required for documentation and communication.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• A deep capacity to provide empathy, patience, and understanding to clients.
• The ability to problem-solve effectively and self-educate when faced with new challenges.
• The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including a working knowledge of proper ergonomics and safe lifting.
• An eagerness to learn and receive training in new areas of care.
• An enthusiastic attitude and a genuine passion for providing exceptional service.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting and/or experience working with mental health is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Providing Personal Care: Assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, and other health-related tasks as delegated by the supervising health care professional (LPN, RN, or physician).
• Home Support: Managing household activities, including meal preparation, cooking, light housekeeping, and shopping.
• Ensuring Safety: Maintaining a safe, comfortable, and secure environment for the client throughout the night.
• Elevating Care: Finding creative and effective solutions to improve the client's overall well-being and quality of life.
• Documentation: Reporting updates and documenting necessary information accurately and on time.
• Professional Execution: Performing all duties diligently, compassionately, and safely within your designated scope of practice.
