The Health Care Aide (HCA) provides support to residents, their families, and visitors in a home-like environment, promoting independence, choice, dignity, privacy, and individuality. This role involves assisting residents with personal care, social support, and participation in recreation and leisure activities. The position requires strong communication skills (reading, writing, verbal articulation, active listening) to implement recommendations and develop plans in accordance with Covenant Care’s protocol and applicable legislation. Maintaining absolute confidentiality of sensitive information is expected. The HCA provides resident care that respects resident choice, dignity, privacy, independence, culture, spirituality, and individuality. Service must be provided in a manner reflective of Covenant Care’s standards, with a close working relationship with the interdisciplinary team, promoting teamwork and cooperation. The position is responsible for ensuring residents receive quality care and service according to policies and procedures, and provides support during the resident’s end-of-life journey, enabling choice, dignity, privacy, respect, and individuality. The role requires modeling the organization's mission, vision, and values, and collaborating effectively as a professional team player.
