About The Position

As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Analyst, you will support the Financial Actuarial & Analytics (FAA) Community of Expertise in developing and maintaining intellectual capital used by teams across FAA. You will help turn established financial, actuarial, and analytical methods into practical, reusable tools, models, templates, benchmarks, and guidance. You will work with experienced FAA practitioners, Client Service teams, Global Delivery Centers, and technology partners to build, test, document, and improve these resources. This role offers hands-on training in health and benefits analytics while providing meaningful experience in intellectual capital development, quality assurance, documentation, and deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, data analytics, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, well-documented work
  • Ability to organize assignments, follow established methods, meet deadlines, and communicate when guidance is needed
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain analytical work in practical terms
  • Curiosity, sound judgment, and willingness to learn health and benefits concepts, analytical methods, and new technology
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data organization, and basic analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, coursework, or project experience involving actuarial work, financial analysis, benefits, insurance, data analytics, research, or tool development preferred
  • Interest in developing reusable analytical tools, models, templates, documentation, and other intellectual capital
  • Exposure to SQL, Python, data visualization, or other analytical tools through coursework, internships, or personal projects is preferred but not required
  • Interest in pursuing an actuarial designation or CEBS is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support FAA Intellectual Capital initiatives by helping develop, test, document, and maintain financial models, analytical tools, dashboards, benchmarks, templates, and standardized deliverables
  • Translate established financial, actuarial, and analytical methods into clear, practical resources that FAA teams can use consistently
  • Perform research, data preparation, calculations, and quality checks to support the development and enhancement of intellectual capital assets
  • Help create user guidance, methodology documentation, examples, training materials, and other resources that support adoption
  • Gather feedback from FAA practitioners and Client Service teams and help incorporate that feedback into tool and content improvements
  • Support testing and validation of pricing analyses, employee contribution methodologies, plan design models, claims reports, and financial projections
  • Build knowledge of employer health and group benefit programs, including medical, dental, life, disability, and voluntary benefits, and apply that knowledge to intellectual capital development
  • Coordinate assigned work with Global Delivery Centers, Client Service teams, and technology partners to support efficient, high-quality delivery
  • Participate actively in team meetings, seek feedback, and contribute ideas for making FAA tools and resources easier to use and more scalable
