As a Health and Wellness Instructor, you will play a key role in helping us enrich the lives of the people we serve. This position contributes to Aegis Health Care understanding of care for our patients and the well-being of their families. Aegis specializes in providing care for hospice patients including respite care and continuous care. This position is for Senior Group Fitness Instructor. As a Senior Group Fitness Instructor, you would be responsible for the scheduled group exercise class geared towards older adults and patients of Aegis Health Care.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Previous experience working with seniors.
  • Ability to follow evidence-based programs.
  • Basic motivational and fitness/exercise counseling techniques.
  • Basic knowledge or aptitude regarding technology related to virtual meetings.
  • All Aegis Healthcare employees must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Group Fitness instruction experience is preferred.
  • CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED: CPR/AED and at least one of the following: NETA, ACE, ACSM, or related.
  • Preferred fitness certifications: Yoga, Thai Chi, Water Aerobics, or related senior fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Leads energizing, fun, and safe group classes for the aging population in senior living communities.
  • Supports wellness program participants in achieving their goals.
  • Celebrate the achievements of program participants.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements and in good repair as well as a good driving record
