About The Position

Belmont Hospital is seeking Health and Security Assistants (HSAs) to join our supportive, team-focused service. This is a hands-on frontline role where you will play an important part in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. No two shifts are necessarily the same. You’ll work across different areas of the hospital, respond to changing priorities and collaborate closely with clinical and support teams. As a Health and Security Assistant, you will provide frontline safety, security and operational support across Belmont Hospital. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys being active, working with people and making a direct contribution to the safe and effective operation of a hospital.

Current 1A Security Licence & First Aid Certificate

Nice To Haves

Technical skills such as hospital-specific procedures, Code Black response, CCTV and access-control systems, duress equipment, incident reporting and local operating procedures can be developed through training and experience.

Responsibilities

Responding to Code Black, duress and other emergency incidents.
Supporting the Emergency Department and clinical teams when required.
Conducting security patrols and maintaining a visible presence across the hospital.
Monitoring access to restricted areas and undertaking access-control activities.
Assisting with patient movement and transfers.
Supporting clinical staff with patients who may present behavioural or safety risks.
Completing security, safety and equipment checks.
Responding to emergencies and rapidly changing situations.
Documenting incidents and activities accurately.
Identifying, communicating and escalating risks appropriately.
Working collaboratively with nursing staff, medical teams, Wardspersons, hospital management and other support services.
