About The Position

Health, Safety, and Training Coordinator III assists in coordinating, building, maintaining, and training to maintain safety culture. With an end state to eliminate injuries, improve safety performance and awareness, and elevate regulatory compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and Company Policies. Requirements

  • Successful completion of 4-years of high school, plus additional job-related certification.
  • Hold an MSHA “Blue Card” IS, IU, and MM.
  • Minimum total years of experience required to perform the job five to ten years.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Diligence.
  • Excellent computer and literacy skills

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in occupational health and safety or equivalent experience.
  • Hold an OSHA 30, 510, 511, 500, or 501 certification.
  • Minimum total years of experience required to perform the job five to ten years.
  • BCSP or other applicable professional certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with standby activities ensuring sites are maintained to regulatory requirements and conditions.
  • Assists in the coordination and maintenance of corporate and site health and safety programs with the aim of eliminating accidents, property loss, harm to the environment and compliance.
  • Trains employees on the corporate safety programs so there is consistency across the organization.
  • Responsible for overseeing work activities that involve health and safety exposures in both surface and underground mining activities.
  • Ensure that all affected employees and supervisors are provided training to assist in the management and understanding of programs, policies, procedures, and standards at the site level.
  • Assists with corporate health and safety audits at all applicable Energy Fuels sites.
  • Ensure injuries and incidents at the site level are reported, documented, investigated, and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Oversees that all compliance issues for all sites, MSHA and OSHA are reported in a timely manner with quality accurate data.
  • Maintains MSHA compliance as stated in 30 CFR, Part 56 & 57; Safety and Health Standards Surface and Underground Metal and Nonmetal Mines.
  • Assists with MSHA, DOT, ATF, and internal inspections.
  • Preforms the required training for all newly hired employees and the required annual training for existing employees.
  • Trains visitors, providing PPE, escorting, etc..
  • Assists in scheduling company physicals (pre and post-employment), respirator fit tests, and hearing testing.
  • Schedule the annual respiratory fitness physical for all employees.
  • Surveillance of the daily work activities by doing Confined Space entry approval, reviewing Safe Work Permits, Hot Work Permits and assisting in issuing Radiation Work Permits.
  • Oversight of Hazard Communication.
  • Provide the corporate health and safety team with recommendations to improve health and safety.
  • Assist with Mine Rescue Team training and coordination of related activities.
  • Understand “Fit for Duty” requirements, perform “Reasonable Suspicion” drug and alcohol screening, and oversee the random drug and alcohol screening program.
  • If you allow it, you accept it, lead by example.
  • Be punctual. Report to work prior to the start of your shift with enough time to be prepared for your employees.
  • Alert the appropriate personnel if you will be absent from your operation.
  • Audits workplace examinations,5-point cards, additional permits, and documents the audit.
  • Report on a weekly basis to the corporate health and safety manager.
