About The Position

Hudbay is a copper-focused mining company with three long-life operations and a world-class pipeline of copper growth projects in tier-one mining-friendly jurisdictions of Canada, Peru and the United States. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in a mining or industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with MSHA regulations.
  • Assisting in the implementation of corrective actions and safety improvements.
  • Supporting the development and updating of safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring training expiration dates to ensure timely re-certification.
  • Assisting with the coordination and logistics of MSHA training courses, including new miner and annual refresher training.
  • Providing support during incident and near-miss investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and assisting with root cause analysis.
  • Assisting in the preparation of detailed incident reports.
  • Participating in emergency response drills and helping to ensure all employees are familiar with safety procedures.
  • Assisting with the coordination of emergency response plans and equipment checks.
