About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As an H&S Technician you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Supporting the implementation of health and safety programs. Assisting Engineers in the development of health and safety programs. If appropriate, may make recommendations for health and safety improvements in work units. Performing routine inspections related to PPE, permits, and equipment. Performing observations and providing feedback to correct deficiencies. Supporting employees and supervisors with health and safety related projects. Maintaining an awareness and enhances knowledge base of federal and state health and safety regulatory guidelines. May serve as a health and safety committee team member. May assist in conducting new employee orientation and role specific training. Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties. Safety is a core value at 3M. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing facility in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Two (2) years' experience performing lockout tagout as an Authorized Employee.
  • Two (2) years' experience performing working at heights activities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • Provide education and work history, either by uploading a resume or entering the information into the application fields directly.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or experience with Hazardous Materials and Fire Response.
  • Certifications or experience with High and Low Angle Rescue or Industrial Rescue.
  • Experience in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience leading crews in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
