About The Position

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Health and Safety Supervisor in East Chicago, IN to work at a client facility. The Health and Safety Supervisor inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations; Oversees ongoing work sites to ensure personnel comply with company and client safety requirement along with promoting a positive safety culture; Emergency response, and site remediation while working in all types of weather conditions. Requirements

2 + years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Valid Driver’s License
Must have a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Strong knowledge of regulations

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the following is preferred: First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards

Responsibilities

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions, investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork
Manage employee safety training programs and coordination
JLA’s (job loss analysis), JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspection, testing and supply
Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations
Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting
Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance
Establish relationships with client safety department
Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and can direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments
Inspects assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues
Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices
Recommends corrective actions
Performs other duties as assigned
