Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HSW legislation, regulations, and sector-specific delivery.
  • Experience implementing and improving management systems, including certification processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and apply assurance and audit strategies.
  • Solid experience in risk management and mitigation within a large organization (enterprise and project level).
  • Ability to assess team competency, align resources effectively, and support development planning.
  • Skilled in presenting technical HSW information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Degree (or equivalent experience), with chartered membership and relevant HSW professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assuring the assessment, management and mitigation of risk in accordance with regulation and business standards.
  • Drives change through communication, persuasion, engagement and innovation.
  • Supports the integration of the Operational HSW job family into an efficient, effective and cohesive team.
  • Monitors and report on performance, provide advice, guidance and expertise as needed.
  • Translates business strategy and objectives into local business plan/s.
  • Collaborates with operational directors to deliver cost effective and efficient performance.
  • Develops and delivers agreed local business plan/s to time, quality and budget.
  • Supporting succession planning and career development activities for team/s.
  • Collaborates with the assurance function in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Engages and influences identified business and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and effective escalation of non-compliance issues they are unable to influence or achieve a satisfactory conclusion to.
  • Manages a large team of direct reports, driving the appropriate behaviours to achieve success & key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.
  • Provides performance management, technical & career development and coaching.
