About The Position

This role identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances. The analyst removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment. The position ensures that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, and that all required records are prepared and maintained. The analyst participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation. Additionally, the role investigates and prepares reports on injuries and fatalities, and conducts safe work procedures training courses.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; OR Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; OR Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
NNS Apprentice School graduate may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree.
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree.
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree.
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree.
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree.
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances.
Removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
Ensures that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement.
Ensures that all required records are prepared and maintained.
Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.
Investigates, prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries and fatalities.
Conducts safe work procedures training courses.
