About The Position

Health Aides work closely with the Health Care Manager/Camp Nurse to support the health and safety of campers. The role helps manage the Health Center, maintain the health of campers and staff, and properly pack medication for overnight trips. Health Aides are supervised by the Health Care Manager and work at a seasonal residential camp, both indoors and outdoors. The position requires living onsite in shared, apartment-style staff housing; specific housing depends on position and availability. This is a full-time seasonal position from May 31, 2027, through August 25, 2027. The usual camp work week is six days on and one day off, including training, staff meetings, and regular duties. The position is exempt from minimum wage and overtime regulations under Washington State wage and hour law. Work travel is conducted by YMCA-authorized drivers. Employees and volunteers must follow abuse prevention policies, maintain appropriate boundaries, complete required training, report suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and comply with mandated reporting requirements. The role also supports ensuring staff are appropriately screened, trained, supervised, and held accountable to the organization's abuse risk management standards. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
