About The Position
The Health Aide is a part-time position in the Talbot County Health Department School Health Program. The Health Aide assists the school nurse in providing a variety of health-related services in a school setting, including: assisting the School Nurse in providing healthcare to students; performing clerical duties as assigned; and assisting the Health Department in times of emergencies.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
- Current certificate as a Nursing Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Nursing
- Possession of a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring vehicle operation)
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (if required)
- Current certification in basic first aid (if required)
Nice To Haves
- Appointees who fail to successfully complete a Board of Nursing approved nursing assistant training program and receive certification as a Nursing Assistant within sixty days from date of hire will not be retained in these positions.
