About The Position

The Healing Touch Therapist will perform a variety of healing touch techniques guided by patient concerns and provider assessments, including working with non-verbal patients. This role requires clinical reasoning and skills to conduct accurate assessments, perform patient care activities, and evaluate the effectiveness of healing touch. The therapist is responsible for ensuring the treatment area and equipment are ready, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, and documenting patient information and care plans within the same business day. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan.

Requirements

  • Completion of the HTI Healing Touch Certificate Program.
  • Healing Touch Practitioner Certification required (HTCP)
  • No experience required
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of healing touch techniques guided by concerns stated by the patient and the provider’s assessment, to include working with non-verbal patients.
  • Demonstrates clinical reasoning, coupled with clinical skills to conduct accurate clinical assessments and perform patient care activities; evaluates the effectiveness of healing touch.
  • Ensures treatment area and necessary equipment are in place before therapy session; Provides an environment consistent with accepted standards of sanitation, hygiene, safety, and Universal Precautions.
  • Communicates patient information and thoroughly documents therapy actions and plan of care within the same business day as the service rendered.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
