Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking student-focused, dedicated Paraeducators to assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support in Head Start classrooms for the 2025-2026 School Year.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or enrollment in CDA
  • A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of teaching strategies across elementary grade levels and basic understanding of how children learn

Responsibilities

  • Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
  • Assists with evaluating and testing students
  • Works with small groups of students in various subject areas
  • Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
  • Monitors students whereabouts and observe student safety
  • Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting
  • Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty
