Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking student-focused, dedicated Paraeducators to assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support to further enhance the efficiency and productivity of educational environments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university

Responsibilities

  • Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments.
  • Follows the direction and guidance of classroom teachers to support instruction of students using prescribed programs and established curriculum.
  • Assists with evaluating and testing students.
  • Works with small groups of students in various subject areas.
  • Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups.
  • Monitors students' whereabouts and observes student safety.
  • Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, parent pick up/curbside duty, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, office duty, and class coverage, as necessary.
