About The Position

AVK Industrial Products is seeking a full-time Heading Machine Operator Level 2 to join their team. This role involves operating and performing basic setups of heading machines, including non-progressive cold headers, and potentially operating progressive and hot headers. The position requires intermediate competencies in blueprint reading and inspection, as well as basic troubleshooting skills. The operator will work under minimal supervision and is expected to adhere to safety and quality guidelines.

Requirements

The ability to read and write English.
Intermediate print reading & inspection processes
Basic familiarity of header tooling & equipment (Progressive & Non-Progressive)
Basic knowledge of wire material & coatings
Basic trouble shooting
1-3 Years of Experience

Nice To Haves

GED or High school diploma preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Correctly interpret work orders.
Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as cutting speeds, feed rates and specific tools to be used.
Sets up machines for self and/or others to run jobs involving highest degrees of complexity.
Positions and secures specified tooling and loads wire stock into feeding mechanism.
Sets cutting speeds and feed rates.
Starts machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
Replaces worn tools.
Lift up to 35lbs.
Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
