Job Summary: The Header Assembler is responsible for setting up and operating power and manual equipment to manufacture standard and custom door package headers and moldings. This role requires precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality production and adherence to specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with operating power and manual equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Adaptability to new processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate equipment such as power presses, arbor presses, milling machines, drilling machines, cut-off saws, routers, and dies to perform operations like blanking, slotting, punching, piercing, and drilling.
  • Work from blueprints, specifications, sketches, or special instructions to manufacture headers and moldings.
  • Maintain and adjust equipment setups to accommodate changes in size and style, ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Lubricate and clean equipment and dies regularly to ensure optimal performance.
  • Periodically check work to maintain a high level of quality and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties to complete parts for assembly, including testing, adjusting, and packing parts in cartons.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and efficiency standards.
