About The Position

Kent School District is seeking a Head Volleyball Coach for a leave-replacement assignment at Mill Creek Middle School for the 2026–27 season. The position is paid according to the Middle School Coaches Salary Schedule, with placement based on years of coaching experience. The stipend range is $4,526–$5,580.

Paid coaches must meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check, and must have a valid first aid and CPR card. Applicants for head coaching positions must be at least 21 years of age. If hired, the coach must read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual. Requirements

• Applicants for head coaching positions must be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check.
• Hold a valid first aid and CPR card.
• Complete the KSD online application process, including professional reference forms.
• Complete required WIAA clinics and KSD Vector Training annually before the sports season begins.
• Successfully complete required concussion recognition and management training with Return to Play Protocols.
• Successfully complete required Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training.
• Complete an approved coaching principles or coaches school training before the beginning of the third coaching year, and repeat it every three years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Coach the Mill Creek Middle School volleyball team for the 2026–27 season.
• Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic, the WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached, and KSD Vector Training requirements before the sports season begins.
• Complete concussion recognition and management training with Return to Play Protocols, renewing it every three years.
• Complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training, renewing it every three years.
• Before the beginning of the third year of coaching, complete an approved coaching principles or coaches school training; repeat the training every three years after initial completion.
• If hired, read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
