About The Position

The Head Varsity Softball Coach supports Hillsboro School District’s athletic objectives, interscholastic athletics policy, and Athletic Code. The District considers extracurricular activities an integral part of school life and encourages students of all abilities to participate and grow physically, intellectually, and socially. Coaches organize and conduct athletic programs to meet the needs of the District and their participants.

Requirements

• Experience in and/or knowledge of softball or the sport, coaching techniques, and student supervision.
• Ability and willingness to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with student-athletes, parents, assistant coaches, and other school staff.
• Ability and willingness to perform coaching responsibilities in accordance with school and District procedures and policies.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Current Concussion Management training and other training required by the OSAA.
• Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and collaborate on solutions to concerns.
• Successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct the varsity softball program to meet the needs of the school district and its participants.
• Support the Hillsboro School District athletic objective, interscholastic athletics policy, and Athletic Code.
• Communicate with student-athletes, parents, assistant coaches, and other school staff.
• Perform coaching responsibilities in accordance with school and District procedures and policies.
• Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons.
• Collaborate with others to address concerns.
