About The Position

Bethlehem Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and Christ-centered individual to serve as our Head Varsity Boys Soccer Community Coach. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a competitive athletic program while mentoring student-athletes in their athletic, personal, and spiritual growth. Our coaches play a vital role in developing character, fostering teamwork, and modeling Christ-like leadership both on and off the field.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to positively interact with children, parents, and staff in a pleasant, friendly manner
  • Complete Background check, CPR, First Aid, and other required health and safety trainings
  • Overtly support and act in accordance with the school's Statement of Faith, mission, purpose, and philosophy
  • Uphold the school’s professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion
  • Maintain professional credentials and/or certification, as appropriate
  • Comply with all school policies and procedures as outlined in the BCA Personnel and Policy Manual
  • Authentically engage in self-reflection and annual personal and professional growth. This includes written goals and progress towards those goals
  • Honor the confidentiality of school, student, family, and employee information
  • Maintain Christian character and professional demeanor on and off campus
  • Represent the school effectively to its constituents
  • Work effectively and collegially with administrators, faculty, and other staff
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as provided in your job description and as assigned
  • Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior, maintaining a growing relationship with Christ.
  • Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living
  • Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and BCA’s philosophy of Christian education
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others
  • Be a member in good standing at a local evangelical church that has a Statement of Faith in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith
  • Should reflect a balanced quality lifestyle evidenced by personal habits: spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally

Responsibilities

  • Properly plan and execute all practices, games, and team building activities
  • Ensure all activities are closely monitored/supervised maintaining a safe physical environment
  • Regularly evaluate athletes for injury or incapacity
  • Provide adequate/proper equipment and instruction
  • Ensure athletes are conditioned properly for practice/games and communicate any inherent risks
  • Follow the Emergency Response Protocol and provide Emergency care as needed
  • Work with the Athletic Director to select, train, and supervise assistant coaches
  • Ensure to match/equate athletes
  • Provide/Maintain safe transportation and provide insurance disclosure as needed
  • Responsible for all aspects of the assigned athletic team
  • Flexible to work with middle school and elementary feeder programs
  • Assist in maintaining high academic standards for all student athletes
  • Work cooperatively with other head athletic coaches to operate a well-balanced athletic program
  • Foster among the athletes, parents, and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, a desire to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, and school
  • Work directly with the strength and conditioning coach to help with the training, conditioning, and performance of the athletic team
  • Lead, supervise, and assist other coaches in their efforts with teams assigned to them
  • Be present and personally direct the team at all contests and to be present at as many other team’s games as possible
  • Recommend to the athletic director the type and quantity of equipment/supplies needed to conduct a successful program
  • Ensure uniforms and equipment are accounted for and well maintained
  • Perform other duties related to the position of athletic coach requested by the athletic director
  • All other duties as assigned
