About The Position

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for a Boys Lacrosse Varsity Head Coach. The season will begin in March and conclude in mid-May, 2027. This person, reporting to the director of athletics, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. This person is responsible for coaching the varsity team as well as oversight and coordination of the entire program, including oversight of any sub-varsity or middle school teams.

Requirements

• At least 25 years of age, have a clean driving record and a valid Washington state driver’s license.
• Be available for all practices and competitions from 3 pm daily during their coaching season, with availability on weekends as required.
• Experience coaching lacrosse at the club, high school or college level is required.
• Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Compliance with all Lakeside School and the WHSBLA.
• Commitment to providing support, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as athletes.
• Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
• Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
• Management of the team budget and hiring processes for sub-varsity and middle school teams.
• Development of the long-term vision for the Boys Lacrosse program (scope & sequence); Oversight of practice plans and culture setting for all teams.
• Commitment to being a presence on campus all year.
• Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
• Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
