About The Position

Gabriel Richard Catholic High School is seeking a Head Varsity Baseball Coach. This position reports directly to the athletic director and is responsible for all aspects of the boys' baseball program. The coach must adhere to the rules and procedures set forth by Gabriel Richard, the Catholic High School League (CHSL), and the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA).

Requirements

• Strong understanding of the overall aspects of baseball
• Effective communicator for both parents and student athletes.
• Must complete Protecting God’s Children
• Must complete school/AOD required fingerprint background check.
• Must have or obtain valid CPR certification
• Develop and practice an Emergency Action Plan.
• Follow all MHSAA and CHSL coaching requirements

Nice To Haves

• High level of coaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Full overall supervision and development of all boys within the baseball program, including any sub-varsity teams.
• Assignments and duties of any assistant/ sub-varsity coaches.
• Planning and implementing tryouts, practices, game plans, and youth camp.
• Maintains communication with student athletes, parents, assistant coaches and Gabriel Richard staff.
• Working collaboratively with the athletic director for the recommendation of any purchases for the program including, but not limited to, uniforms, equipment and supplies.
