About The Position

The Head Track & Field Coach leads the Albany Huskies Track & Field program in alignment with the philosophy and rules of Albany Area Schools, the Albany Huskies Athletics Program, and the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). The role requires building positive relationships and working successfully with student-athletes, assistant coaches, parents, community members, the Activities Director, school administration, and other coaches and programs in the district.

The season runs from March through June. Practices and meets are scheduled throughout the season, including evenings and weekends. Off-season duties may include coordinating youth programs, camps, and clinics; managing inventory; attending meetings; and handling other program-related responsibilities.

Requirements

• Coaching experience is required.
• Head Coaching Certification is required.
• Applicants must meet all MSHSL coaching and concussion requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Albany Huskies Track & Field program in accordance with school, athletics program, and MSHSL philosophies and rules.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with student-athletes, assistant coaches, parents, community members, the Activities Director, school administration, and other district coaches and programs.
• Develop athletes and plan practices.
• Prepare for meets and supervise program activities.
• Manage the overall program.
• Coordinate youth programs, camps, and clinics during the off-season, as needed.
• Manage inventory, attend meetings, and handle other program-related off-season responsibilities, as needed.
