About The Position
Travis Pointe Country Club, managed by Bobby Jones Links, is seeking a Head Tennis/Pickleball Professional. Travis Pointe is a private club in Ann Arbor, Michigan, established in 1977, featuring extensive amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a large tennis complex with indoor and outdoor courts, an aquatics facility, indoor golf simulators, and a fitness center. The club has a history of hosting significant tournaments, including the LPGA Volvik Championship. The Head Tennis/Pickleball Professional will be responsible for teaching, program development, and contributing to the overall member experience.
Requirements
- USPTA or PTR Professional certified
- Organizational and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to restring, regrip, and repair rackets
Responsibilities
- Teach and lead junior and adult tennis clinics
- Teach private lessons and help with scheduling of group clinics
- Assist in preparing the facility for member play, including court maintenance (sweeping, lining clay courts, blowing hard courts), refilling water coolers, emptying trash, and refilling cups and towels
- Report all complaints and requests to the Director of Tennis
- Attend staff and club meetings as requested by the Director of Tennis
- Maintain clear communication with other club personnel
- Collaborate with other tennis professionals to develop training programs
- Grow the junior and adult program, including coaching and observing matches
- Be present at and direct special events as requested by the Director of Tennis
- Proactively seek ways to improve staff productivity and member enjoyment
- Promote and sell club tennis events and programs to members and guests
- Manage all aspects of team coaching, including scheduling, attendance, billing, and lesson plans
- Work the front Tennis Desk as needed, understanding opening/closing procedures, billing, and member satisfaction
- Run and coach Junior USTA team matches
- Teach pickleball clinics and assist with league facilitation
