Under the immediate supervision of the assistant branch manager, the Head Teller has the responsibility for the daily operation of the teller function and provides leadership to the tellers in the assigned office. Following established policies and procedures, the Head Teller performs all teller functions, as well as other duties requiring additional knowledge and experience, such as opening accounts and consumer loans, processing clerical work through the area and assisting tellers with complex balancing and other work-related problems. The Head Teller also inspires and coaches teller staff to actively participate in the Bank’s sales culture.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of teller-related courses
  • One to two years of banking experience, including formal teller and new accounts training
  • Proven track record of accuracy in cash handling and balancing skills
  • Possess supervisory and leadership ability and be able to coordinate operations within the office to ensure uniform operational procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of an on-line teller terminal and other standard office equipment
